UPDATE: Today we were informed by Florida CraftArt Executive Director, Katie Deits that our one-of-a-kind figure “Avine Degas” had been awarded with an Honorable Mention in the “Creatures: Wild & Wooly” juried exhibition, but was accidentally omitted during the opening night presentation. Such a wonderful surprise! We are very pleased and wish to thank the judge Michael Killoren for this award.
On Friday, June 30th, we attended the opening and awards reception of at Florida CraftArt Gallery, showcasing original artwork by more than 35 artist created creatures — wild, exotic, domesticated, imaginary and mythical.
Michael Killoren, Executive Director of the Morean Arts Center judged the show of 76 extraordinary works of art and presented awards to exhibiting artists.
The exhibition is dedicated to the late sculptor Paul Eppling, an inspiring artist and creator of fantastical beasts.
The “Creatures” exhibition continues through the month of July and closes Saturday, August 12th with a reception and People’s Choice Award presentation. Come and vote for your favorite creature!
